This Mumbai Artist’s Cover of Game of Thrones Theme Song is WOW!

Karan Chitra Deshmukh is the name every Indian should be proud of, as the series of Game of Thrones was about to begin this Tabla Maestro from Mumbai has come up with a beautiful cover of their theme song, which has gone Viral. 

This is one of the best covers by far we have ever heard. Karan Chitra Deshmukh, is a Mumbai-based percussionist, who has not only shot to fame with this tune, but also has made one of the classical instruments used in Indian Music –  Tabla, famous.

“As a child I always used to go to the kitchen and grab a couple of utensils and play along with the songs on reality TV shows,” 22-year-old Deshmukh told IBTimes UK.

He added with a laugh: “Coincidentally our neighbor was a tabla teacher, but I never wanted to join the classes with the fear of getting beaten up if I wouldn’t play well.”

This man has made us very proud, the tabla cover of the Game of Thrones has been watched more than 50,000 times on Youtube and we are sure the numbers are going to crazily rise up pretty soon.

Utilising nine dayans (the main drum, usually played by one’s dominant hand) and one bayan (the low-pitched drum), Deshmukh uses a version of what is generally known as a tabla tarang to play the familiar theme effortlessly, without missing a beat.” – HuffintonPost
