Leonardo DiCaprio wins Best Actor at Golden Globes 2016.

Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Actor Award at Golden Globes 2016 for his performance in a Motion Picture ‘Revenant’

The other actors who were nominated in this category are Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Will Smith (Concussion), Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl) and Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs).

This is Leonardo DiCaprio’s 3rd Golden Globe Award, The first one was in the year 2005 for the movie Aviator followed by The Wolf of Wall Street in 2014.

After winning the award Leonardo DiCaprio said,

“I want to share this award with all the First Nations peoples represented in this film and all the indigenous communities around the world,”

he said during his acceptance speech, in which he gave a nod to director Alejandro González Iñárritu, who won Best Director for his turn.

“It is time that we recognize your history and that we protect your indigenous lands and corporate interests,” DiCaprio continued.

It’s a nice warm up for the Oscars next month, lets hope he wins it this time.
